Sony Ericsson Update Service Flash Error

This is a fix for those of you who don't use Internet Explorer. If the Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) fails saying that you need Flash 8 or later then you must go into Internet Explorer, and download the latest version of Flash (doing it in Firefox won't work).

Once you have done this SEUS should work just fine.

    problem is.. I'm doing this now and the only version available is 10.. something of the Flash Player and it doesnt work at all to install on Vista.. =/

    I wouldn't know about Vista - for the last few years I have only rarely been using Windows, so the most recent one I have is Windows XP. Most of the time I use Ubuntu.

    Is SEUS compatible with Vista?

    Hello man. Thank you this advice.
    In my case I also did a important step.

    First. I downloaded the last flash player version with my Internet Explorer as you adviced.

    PS. Same with flash player installed, restarted my PC and reinstalled the Sony Update service it didnt work.

    Second. Searching on internet I found other advice. I run the following command line on the MS-DOS console:

    regsvr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10a.ocx

    After sucessfull register. The Sony update worked fine.

    Ps. If you havent the Flash10a.ocx within this folder look for similar file. Maybe your flash player is another version.

    got the same problem right now. unfortunately your solution didn't work for me, but after uninstalling the flash player, deleting the directory c:\windows\system32\macromed\
    reinstalling flash player and executing
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe
    it worked.

    maybe it'll help anybody here

    Stupid ass Sony.

    I had to use IE to install flash plugin to work. Of coruse IE had that stupid ass "Security settings thing" which took another 5 mins to figure out (Tools>Options>Enable activeX). Screw you Sony programmers. If this doesn't work I'm never buying a retarded sony produt again. They seriously don't give a flaming crap about their customers.
